CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Department of Information, Communications and Technology (DICT), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Local Government Unit of San Manuel launched recently the town’s electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (e-BPLS).

The launch was attended by DICT Isabela representatives led by Evence Michael Baguilat and San Manuel Mayor Manuel Faustino U. Dy and was held at the town hall.

Cirilo Gazzingan, DICT Isabela head, said that the agency had previously conducted a two-day hands on training on developing technical skills on automating or computerizing business permits and licensing systems using the DICT's software. This was done before the formal launch to ensure that the operations of the system are without problems.

Among the offices of San Manuel that participated in the said training were the Business Permit and Licensing Office, Treasury Office, Engineering Office, Planing and Development Office, Health Office, Environment and Natural Resources Office, and the BFP which are involved in the issuance of business permits and licenses.

Gazzingan also stated that the e-BPLS will be a useful tool that will greatly contribute to the improvement of performance and competitiveness of the LGU's business permit and licensing processes. (JKC/MGE/PIA Isabela)
