KALIBO, Aklan -- Governor Florencio Miraflores issued new guidelines for minor tourists entering Boracay island.
Based on the advisory released by Miraflores, children aged 12 to 17 years are now allowed to visit Boracay Island provided that they are fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
As proof of being fully vaccinated, tourists should present their VaxCertPH COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate with full vaccination status or locally-issued vaccination card with full vaccination status and verifiable QR Code.
Also, acceptable as proof is a locally-issued Vaccination Card/ID with full vaccination status and with certificate of vaccination from the vaccination center that performed the jabs with contact details.
Miraflores stressed that the vaccination certificate is in addition to the requirements for the issuance of a QR Code. Tourists should still submit a hotel reservation from the establishments accredited by the Department of Tourism, ID and travel details.
If minor visitors could not present either one of the three options as proof of being

fully vaccinated, they are required to show a negative RT-PCR test certificate with date of extraction within 72 hours to date of travel.
On the other hand, unvaccinated minors below 12 years old are no longer required to present negative RT-PCR Test before being issued of QR Code.
Reiterated in the advisory is that all minor visitors of Boracay Island should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Meanwhile, based on the record of the Malay Municipal Tourism Office, Boracay tourist arrivals already reached 24,355 from November 1 to 14, 2021. (AAL/SQP/PIA-Aklan)
