"Deadline of submission of nominations will be on Dec. 15," said UPV Office of the Chancellor Communication and Mass Media Project Development Assistant Dr. Zoilo S. Andrada, Jr. during a Bantala briefing to invite Capiz media practitioners to join the call for nominations.

The Awards will look into four specific challenges of deepening participatory democracy, protecting human rights, addressing various forms of social and cultural marginalization and fighting disinformation on the submitted story entries published or aired between Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 15 this year.

Winners will receive a cash prize and trophy.

Andrada started the Bantala online briefing with Iloilo broadcast journalists last Oct. 27 before taking part in a roadshow for Antique, Aklan and Capiz to reach out to more mediamen in the region.

The same orientation will also be conducted online for Negros Occidental and Bacolod City media members on Nov. 22.
