TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA) -- A total 304 families from End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) barangays in Iligan City and this province have benefitted from the Environmental and Natural Resources (ENR) Project.

The project is implemented by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) from 2019 to 2021. 

DENR Lanao del Norte Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) Samer Ambola shared that the program is implemented through the national greening program.

Trees such as falcata and mahogany have been planted in a total of 1,230 hectares of land. 

The families who benefited from the sai program are from the barangays in Iligan City and in the municipalities of Pantar, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Kapatagan, Tubod, Tangcal, Munai,  and Sapad. 

During the joint virtual meeting of the provincial councils for Development, Peace and Order, Anti-illegal Drug Abuse, and Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, PENRO LDN also reported that they had apprehended illegal forest products from the towns of Maigo and Linamon.  (LELA/PIA Lanao del Norte)
