DUMAGUTE CITY, Negros Oriental, Nov. 22 (PIA) -- Dumaguete City has confirmed reports that there were no new COVID-19 positive cases or deaths recorded on Nov. 21.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla said the city now have 126 active cases with 4,173 recoveries and 140 deaths from Jan. 30, 2020 to Nov. 21, 2021.
Of the 126 active COVID-19 patients, 84 cases are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office, 11 are confined at Silliman University Medical Center, 12 are admitted at Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital, eight at ACE Doctors, four at Holy Child Hospital, and seven at Negros Polymedic Hospital.
Talla said that 42 or 33% of the 126 active COVID-19 cases are confined in the hospitals.
Of the total number of active COVID-19 cases, only 53 were confirmed to have been vaccinated against coronavirus and will be less likely to experience severe symptoms requiring hospitalization.
It was also reported that 52,721 eligible city residents, including minors, have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Nov. 21.
Around 101,682 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have already been administered to the eligible residents.
Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm, Pfizer, and the single dose Janssen jabs have been in use in Dumaguete City.
Of the 57, 230 eligible residents vaccinated, 2,632 are medical frontliners or (A1); 7,503 senior citizens (A2); 8,946 persons with comorbidities (A3); 15,930 frontline personnel (A4); 18,947 indigents (A5); 1,846 belonging to the Rest of the Adult Population; and 1,426 pediatric (12-17 years old) were vaccinated.
