115K Antique vaccinees up for 'Bayanihan sa Bakunahan'

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - -  Antique will join the nationwide "Bayanihan sa Bakunahan" with 115,217 vaccinees up for jabs with COVID-19 vaccines, November 29 to December 1, 2021.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. RicNoel Naciongayo, in a press interview, said that the target has already been allocated to the 28 vaccination centers provincewide.

The province has to accomplish the 38,000 per day vaccinees so the target could be achieved.

Aside from the municipal vaccination centers and hospitals, there are schools and gymnasiums which are designated as vaccination centers.

Naciongayo is asking the commitment of various stakeholders to ensure the success of Bayanihan sa Bakunahan event.

He noted that the accomplishment in the upcoming event will help the province in achieving its target for herd immunity.

Aside from the adult population, the compliance of the target will also cover the children population 12-17 years old eligible for inoculation.

The vaccination of children will also help the schools prepare for the face-to-face classes.

He also enjoined the local officials from the municipalities down to the barangays to devise mechanisms in order to gather more vaccinees in their respective towns.

Naciongayo assured everyone that Antique has sufficient supply of vaccines. DOH has given the province the logistics needed for the event.

As of November 24, Antique has a total accomplishment of 172,809 individuals vaccinated with at least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
