Andanar presents 'Duterte Legacy' to Misamisnons

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA)--Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar presented some of the accomplishments of President Rodrigo Duterte in the last five years through 'Duterte Legacy' during a live interview, November 24 at "Kisaw sa Lalawigan" with Thata Roxas through the Mindanao Broadcasting Channel.

"Importante ma-promote ang legacy sa usa ka presidente para matatak sa mga kababayan nato kung unsa ang mga accomplishments ang nabuhat sa atong Presidente," he said. 

(It’s important to promote the legacy of the President so that the public will know his accomplishments)

"Ang legacy ni Presidente, nag-promise siya ug peace and order. Naa ang Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. Nag-promise siya og kalinaw, naa pod ang NTF-ELCAC diin 20,000 ka mga rebelde ni-surrender na ug nibalik na sa atong gobyerno. Sa law and order, 60% sa atong crime volume ang ninaog, 22,000 barangays ang drug cleared. Sa anti-corruption drive gipirmahan ug gimugna niya ang Freedom of Information. Gi-abrihan ang atong Presidential Anti Corruption Commission ug ang atong Anti Red Tape Act (ARTA) gipakusgan ni Presidente," Andanar said.

The secretary also shared the policies that greatly favored indigent Filipino families and vulnerable sectors in the country.

In Region 10, Andanar also disclosed the projects accomplished by the President through the "Build, Build, Build" program including the access road to Layawan river, Misamis Occidental, Ozamiz City Airport development project, Dipolog-Oroquieta road. In other parts of the region, there is Cagayan De Oro (CDO) coastal road, CDO coastal road phase 1, Valencia bypass road, Malaybalay bypass road, CDO convention center, and Camiguin Airport.

From 2016 to May 2021, the Department of Agriculture completed farm to market roads totaled to 122.18 kilometers with P1.7 billion worth project and 13,235 hectares of agricultural lands given to 8,000 Agrarian Reform beneficiaries and we have six Malasakit Centers in Region 10.

Andanar said under Duterte’s leadership, 109 million Filipino people have benefited from the Universal Health Care Law, 1.6 million benefited from the free tuition of the student's in-state colleges and universities, free irrigation for farmers, 105 days for maternity leave, five years driver license, 10 years passport and free wifi all over the country and others.

He added that all the projects under Build Build Build program will continue even beyond the term of President Duterte.

Further, the Panguil bay bridge in Tangub City, rail way projects in Davao, Mindanao rail way, sub-way project in Metro Manila, major projects in Cebu will also continue, the secretary said.

The government's focus now is on the country’s recovery, Andanar said, reiterating that the ill-effects brought by COVID 19 not just in health but economy as well. 

"Naka-focus ta sa atong recovery sa pag-atiman sa mga nurses, frontliners ug sa atong mga estudyante, jobless ug uban pang sector sa atong nasud," the PCOO chief stressed.
