BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Department of Health (DOH) in partnership with local government units here will be establishing more ‘Botika ng Bayan’ in the province.

Jan Tugadi, DOH provincial coordinator said the local government units of Ambaguio, Solano, Bayombong and Quezon have applied for the project.

The ‘Botika ng Bayan’ is a project of the DOH and LGUs to provide free 21 essential drugs and medicines for the poor villagers especially in remote areas.

 “LGUs must shoulder the identification of the site and the facility including manpower such as pharmacists needed to operationalize the ‘Botika ng Bayan’,” Tugadi said.

He said the town of Aritao was the first LGU to have the ‘Botika ng Bayan’ Project in the province.

Tugadi said this was recently launched in October this year.

“The applications of LGUs of Ambaguio and Quezon are now in the process and are expected to be approved soon,” he said. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
