CAMIGUIN (PIA)—Continuing assistance to informal workers, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 distributed around P822,000 cash aid to 137 informal workers in Guinsiliban, here through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD), December 2.
DOLE-10 Regional Director Albert Gutib also led the turnover ceremony of the nine beneficiaries of DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) where P400,000 was released.
As accredited co-partner (ACP) for TUPAD, the Local Government of Guinsiliban received P2.2 million to cover 350 beneficiaries in the area.
Highlighting various assistance from DOLE and the implementation of Mission Rebooting Activities through Community Engagements (RACE), DOLE-10 Assistant Regional Director Estrella Pahalla said such is their way to improve the lives of Filipinos, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For his part, Gov. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo emphasized the province's need to invest in human capital and capacitate the youth through formation of retooled education, training, scholarships, skills enhancement and other developmental programs to complement DOLE's assistance and services.
A meeting with the Public Employment Service Office Managers in Camiguin was also held, December 2 to raise issues and concerns including their plans of action as the implementing arm of DOLE services. (RTP/PIA-10/Camiguin)
