PILI, Camarines Sur, Dec 16 (PIA)— Camarines Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) has activated all its response clusters in anticipation of rain-induced landslides and flooding as possible effects of typhoon "Odette".
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No.1 was hoisted over the province as per Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No.4 issued by DOST-PAGASA yesterday.
As per Memorandum No.2 issued by CamSur PDRRMC Chairperson and Governor Miguel Villafuerte, all chief executives, DRRM councils, attached agencies, and the punong barangays, were directed to place their respective emergency operation centers in 24/7 status.
This includes activating the search, rescue and retrieval, road clearing, camp coordination and camp management, emergency telecommunication, law and order, health, education, and management of the dead and missing clusters.
The implementation of the 'NO SAIL' policy shall be strictly enforced which bars all fisherfolk from using boats and other seas to venture out into the sea, including cargo vessels, until the advisory is lifted.
The Philippine Information Agency, Bureau of Fire Protection, and all local DRRM councils, especially those near the coastlines, were also directed to ensure dissemination of the said information immediately.
Earlier, PDRRMC CamSur issued Red Alert Status to all the municipalities to provide immediate dissemination of weather bulletins, No sail policy and other related advisories to their respective areas of responsibilities, and check if their community-based early warning devices and systems are in place and operational.
