CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict Northern Mindanao (RTF-ELCAC) launched its donation drive for Typhoon Odette, dubbed "Bangon VisMin," December 20 to help affected families get basic necessities such as food, water and hygiene kits.

“The RTF-ELCAC 10’s campaign has been successful in 2021, as a convergence effort with other agencies, we are again coming together not just to end local communist armed conflict but also help our kababayans who are badly affected by Typhoon Odette,” says Philippine Army Commanding Chief Major General Romeo Brawner, Jr.

"Bangon VisMin" donation drive aims to help affected families not just in the region but throughout Visayas and Mindanao that were badly affected by the typhoon.

“While northern Mindanao was also affected by Typhoon Odette, the level of affectation and even the damage is not as bad as the other areas in the country particularly CARAGA specifically Siargao, Dinagat, Surigao del Norte and Central Visayas particularly Cebu and Southern Leyte. Some of us were hurting because some have families that were affected, but, I know we still have within us the capacity to give,” National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora Cariño said.

The task force has identified food, water and hygiene kits as priority needs. For donation, the drop off point is at the 4th Infantry Division, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City or call 0905-1730-158.  (JAKA/PIA-10)
