CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--Responding to the needs of the victims of Super Typhoon Odette that struck, December 16 and left huge damage to infrastructures and agriculture in the Visayas and Mindanao, Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-10 employees have pitched in to help the affected families.
Relief goods worth more than P20,000 have been turned over to the Civilian-Military Coordinating Center (CMCC) of the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division today, December 23, for the typhoon victims in Caraga, Region 7 and 8.
In last Monday’s meeting of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC)-10 Technical Working Group, the members came up with a donation campaign dubbed “Bangon VisMin Typhoon Odette Donation Drive” to encourage well-meaning individuals and organizations to donate relief goods for the typhoon victims.
"I am happy that PIA-10 employees positively responded to the call for donations for typhoon victims. This is a test of how we practice God’s love in our lives,” PIA-10 Regional Director Franklin Gumapon said.
Employees of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-10, on the other hand, have also donated on Monday relief goods for the typhoon victims through 4ID’s CMCC. (PIA10)
