MARAWI CITY (PIA)--The Community and Family Services International (CFSI) and Marawi City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) conducted a week-long distribution of Care Packages to Persons with Special Needs (PWSNs) here.
Each Care Package contains basic food packs such as 10kg rice, canned goods, biscuits, instant noodles, powdered milk, instant coffee; hygiene kits such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, detergent, bath towel, bathroom tissue, face mask, and alcohol; dignity kit consisting of Malong, nail cutter, comb, cotton buds, gargle, sanitary pads, slippers, insect repellant lotion, and face towel; and first aid kit consisting of digital thermometer, instant cold pack, vaporub; and over-the-counter medicines and multivitamins.
Also included in the Care Packages are relevant non-food items such as jerry can, electric kettle, plate and bowl, spoon and fork, ceramic mug, dipper and pail, and trash bag.
The distribution of the Care Package aims to promote well-being, alleviate suffering, and prevent transmission of COVID-19 among PWSNs and their households.
It is implemented by CFSI under the Marawi COVID Recovery Project (MCRP) in seven municipalities in the province of Lanao del Sur including Marawi City. The project is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Australian government.
Earlier this month, the Deputy Head of Mission Richard Sisson of the Embassy of Australia visited the city and led the handover of MCRP various assistance to 17 beneficiaries in Sagonsongan Transitory Shelter.
During his visit, Sisson reiterated the commitment of the Australian government to continue pouring support to internally displaced persons of the city especially those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. (APB/PIA Lanao del Sur)
