DTI to distribute Negosyo Kits in NegOr

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Dec. 28 (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here will distribute Negosyo Kits via Landbank Cash Cards to microenterprises in the municipality of La Libertad and Guihulngan City under its Livelihood Seeding Program–Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) on Dec. 31.

The latest program beneficiaries are those living in areas within Region 7 that are worst hit by typhoon Odette.

The livelihood kits amounting to not more than P8,000 for each microenterprise is scheduled for distribution.

DTI Central Visayas Regional Director Maria Elena Arbon said the LSP-NSB is in partnership with the local government units (LGUs) and allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people.

Microenterprises in Ubay, Bien Unido, San Miguel, Trinidad, Talibon, and Carlos P. Garcia in Bohol will also receive the kits on Dec. 29, followed by the towns of Carcar, Sibonga, and Argao in Cebu on Dec. 30-31.

The livelihood kits contain items that will help in the recovery and improvement of the beneficiaries’ businesses.

“Aside from the provision of livelihood kits to qualified beneficiaries, MSMEs can avail of different services such as facilitation of business name registration, business advisory, business information, and advocacy from the said program,” Arbon said.

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) beneficiaries of the LSP-NSB program includes sole proprietors, cooperatives or sectoral associations that are located in identified barangays, including those in areas affected by communist armed conflict and vulnerable communities such as the Indigenous Peoples (IPs), refugees or stateless persons also known as persons of concern.

Priority assistance shall be given to MSMEs affected by human-induced and natural calamities including typhoon Odette, as well as health disasters arising from epidemics and pandemics. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental with reports from DTI-7)
