Kalinga logs 111,982  fully  jabbed individuals

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) --Some 111,982 eligible population in Kalinga have completed their COVID-19 vaccination as of January 9, 2022.

The figure will climb as the 122,132 partially inoculated individuals are getting their second jabs and vaccination roll-out is being ramped up   to reach far-flung areas, Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban said during the Presidential Communication Operation Office’s Network Briefing program on Tuesday (Jan. 11).

The province targets to fully vaccinate 155,095 individuals to achieve the 70 percent herd immunity.

With the threat of the Omicron variant, Tubban urged local government units to draft their respective COVID-19 response programs giving emphasis on restrictions to non-vaccinated individuals. Part of the response plan is to require negative RT-PCR test results to non-vaccinated government workers reporting to work, he said.

In line with this, border control is resumed requiring all travelers coming to the province to present any of the COVID-19 vaccination card, digital vaccination certificate or negative antigen test taken at least 12 hours before travel.

The province has recorded more than 60 new COVID-19 cases since January 2, 2022 after a period of zero case reports last month. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
