Over 75K of Dgte target population vaxxed

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Jan. 14 (PIA) -- Dumaguete City has reported that 151,530 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have already been administered to 75,801 eligible residents of the target population of 96,050 using Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm, Pfizer and the single dose Janssen jabs as of Jan. 12.

Among the vaccinated are the 74,002 residents who received the 1st dose and the 1,799 who were inoculated using the single dose Janssen jabs.

City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla also reported that 1,750 individuals received their COVID-19 jabs in the three vaccination sites at Pulantubig Gym, Foundation University Gymnasium, and Robinson Place including those who returned to get their 2nd doses on Jan. 12.

Talla said 73,620 residents are fully vaccinated while 3,908 have received their booster shots.

Of the 75, 801 eligible residents vaccinated, 2,785 are medical frontliners or (A1); 8,557 senior citizens (A2); 9,258 persons with comorbidities (A3); 18,384 frontline personnel (A4); 24,393 indigents (A5); 9,079 belonging to the rest of the adult population; 3,345 pediatric (12-17 years old); and 3,908 residents who got booster shots.

The city also reminded all residents to be vigilant, observe health protocols, and get vaccinated to prevent an upsurge of COVID-19 cases. 

The task force and other concerned officials have convened to enhance the implementation of health protocols among the people and establishments while ensuring that more citizens will get vaccinated.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo stressed the need for more residents to get vaccinated so they will not fall seriously ill if they are infected with COVID-19.

Residents who would like to get booster shots are advised to go to their barangay health centers to be listed and wait for their schedule, as walk-in is discouraged to avoid overcrowding in the vaccination sites. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental with reports from CPIO)
