ALICIA, Isabela (PIA) - - The local government unit here is distributing monetary assistance to college students to augment their educational expenses.

Mayor Joel Amos Alejandro said the P1,500 cash for each student, dubbed ‘Ayuda Para sa mga Mag-aaral’, is targetting 2,704 enrolled college students in the municipality under both public and private institutions this year.

“We already handed the assistance to at least 900 college students in our municipality, and we will continue on with the distribution,” he said.

Alejandro explained that the financial aid has been rolled out in order to help college students in their expenses particularly in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The pandemic really affected the income of our LGU, but we are trying our best to provide assistance especially to those who are in dire need,” he said. (JKC/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
