'Barangayanihan' brings jabs, help to villagers

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) -- The Philippine National Police-led Duterte Legacy Barangayanihan Caravan towards National Recovery has reached Barangay Quezon in San Carlos City.

More than 100 beneficiaries from the barangay availed of the different benefits like food packs, buckets, hygiene kits for the indigents from various local departments and national agencies.

Aside from the essential items, the City Health Office also conducted COVID-19 vaccination and provided free consultation, medicine and vitamins while the City Agriculture’s Office provided seedlings which include coconut, guyabano, cacao and various vegetable at the Barangay Quezon Covered Court.

San Carlos City mayor Renato Y. Gustilo urged beneficiaries to get vaccinated and disregard other people’s stories that vaccines are harmful to the body.

Gustilo shared his family’s ordeal when they contracted COVID-19 where a large sum of money was needed for their hospitalizatization.

“Avail of the free vaccines because it is very hard to get sick with COVID-19 especially on the financial aspect,” Gustilo added as he asked the people to get vaccinated.

Meanwhile, newly installed provincial director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Police Colonel Leo B. Pamittan said that no government is perfect but it strives to deliver the pro-
