CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) – The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday said that they will distribute Kalinga Kits to vulnerable families and individuals who are currently in home quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19.
“Ang DOH ay magpoprovide ng Kalinga kits sa mga nag-iisolate at nagkaquarantine sa kani-kanilang mga bahay,” DOH Undersecretary Rosario Vergeire said in DOH media forum on Jan. 18.
The “Kalinga Kit” is a project of DOH in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) and private sector companies such as P&G and Unilab.
The DOH's COVID-19 home care kit contains the following items:
- 1 banig of paracetamol
- 1 banig of Vitamin C
- 1 banig of Carbocisteine
- 2 packs of facemasks (20 pieces)
- 2 bars of soap
- 1 alcogel
- 1 disinfectant spray
- 1 tips sheet
“Ang Kalinga kits ay patuloy na ina-upgrade habang patuloy ang pakikipag-collaborate ng DOH sa iba pang bahagi ng private sector,” Vergeire said.
Meanwhile, the DOH said that they are drafting the guidelines of Kalinga Kits distribution for the implementing units.
“Ipapatupad natin ito sa lalong madaling panahon. Ginagawan lang natin ng maayos na guidelines,” Vergeire said.
The health department reiterated that the Kalinga Kits will be given to the vulnerable population who are isolating or treating COVID-19 at home. (JMB/PIA-IDPD)
