TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite (PIA) – The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Cavite conducted its Tech4Ed: Basic Center Management Training with the local government of General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) – Barangay Level this Wednesday, January 27, 2022.
Barangay personnel and staff of all twenty-seven (27) barangays in the municipality including employees of the local government participated in said training which aims to educate and empower the employees thru digital literacy.
The activity is also in preparation for the establishment of Tech4Ed centers in the barangays that will help enhance the computer knowledge and skills of the community in order to keep in pace with technological advancements towards continuous development in the digital age.
Also in attendance for the training were DILG-MLGOO Reginaldo Revilla, Municipal Jail staff, and DICT- Cavite personnel headed by Engineer Melan Mamalateo.
Tech4Ed Coordinator, Roma Herminigildo who facilitated the management training discussed the roles and responsibilities of the concerned stakeholders, and cited all the existing, operational centers in the province.
Tech4ED stands for Technology Empowerment for Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.
It caters to different sectors such as Out-of-School Youth Association (OSYA), Teachers/Professional, Students, Women, Senior Citizens, OFW and their relatives/families, Fishermen and Fisherfolks, Person's Deprived of Liberty to enable, empower and transform them into more knowledgeable individuals with the help of information and communications technology (ICT).
