CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)—Fifteen former rebels (FRs) here received assistance from the government through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) after they surrendered and returned to the fold of the law.
A total of P2.5 million was given to the returnees under the E-CLIP. Of this, P50,000 is allocated for livelihood assistance, P21,000 for reintegration assistance, P15,000 for immediate assistance, and P2,379,000.00 for firearms remuneration.
The E-CLIP is under Administrative Order No. 10 series 2018 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte, which aims to provide complete package assistance to former rebels and their immediate family members who decided to abandon the armed struggle and become productive members of the society.
Alias Dino, who received P916,000 worth of livelihood and cash aid, thanked the Duterte administration, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Misamis Oriental Provincial Government for the opportunity to live a peaceful life with their families.
The FRs personally received assistance at the 58th Infantry Battalion camp in Barangay Mingbanday, Claveria, Misamis Oriental.
DILG-Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Engr. Maricia Naybe together with 58th IB Commander Lt. Col. Ricky Canatoy, Claveria Municipal Mayor Meraluna Abrogar, and Misamis Oriental Board Member Dexter Yasay as representative of Governor Yevgeny Vicente Emano handed over the said support.
