TESDA has new building in Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) – Director General Isidro Lapeña of the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) graced the blessing and inauguration of the new three-story building of TESDA Capiz Provincial Office, February 11, at Sitio Bato in Brgy. Banica, here.

Lapeña was also at the same venue last year as he graced the groundbreaking rites of the P20-million building funded by the Office of Senate President Tito Sotto III in a lot donated by a kindhearted Geronimo Bermejo.

The construction of the building was implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Capiz First Engineering District.

“The creation of this Office building could not have been possible without the relentless effort of many people to whom TESDA will be forever grateful,” he stressed.

A room named “Engr. Bim Hajan Hall” was dedicated by TESDA to former TESDA Capiz provincial director Engr. Abdel Bakhri Hajan, who was instrumental in the realization of the project before he died on July 1, 2021 due to COVID-19 infection.

The family of the late “Engr. Bim” virtually graced the program through an online meeting platform.

Lapeña said that TESDA Capiz has been renting limited office space for more than three decades but has still been able to deliver the agency’s programs and services with quality and efficiency.

But with the new office facility, Lapeña posed a challenge to TESDA Provincial Office employees to render better Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) services to the Capiceños. (JBG/AAL/PIA Capiz)
