Based on the latest date of the Cordillera PNP, the town of Lubuagan in Kalinga is the lone area under the Red Category.
Under the Orange Category are Pinukpuk, Pasil, and Balbalan in Kalinga; and Sagada and Besao in Mountain Province. But during the meeting, it was agreed upon that the RJSCC will conduct another assessment to update the category of the two towns of Mountain Province.
Under the Yellow Category are Rizal (Liwan), Tinglayan, and Tabuk City in Kalinga; Bangued, Dolores, Peñarrubia, Pidigan, Pilar, San Juan, Tayum, Tineg, and Lagayan in Abra; and the town of Conner in Apayao.
The remaining areas in the region are considered under the Green Category. Areas under green are considered generally peaceful,
"Historical po 'yung pinagbasehan nila sa national headquarters. At our level po, ire-recommend natin 'di na 'yan yellow, 'di na 'yan red kasi manggagaling na ho sa ating ang ire-recommend natin. Work in progress naman po 'yung mga color coding po doon," said PROCOR Regional Director PBGen. Oliver Lee.
Those under the yellow category are areas of concern with reported election related incidents. The orange category covers areas of immediate concern where there is a serious armed threat, while areas under the red category are of grave concern and either one of the grounds for the declaration of COMELEC control exists.
The PNP assured their sustained focused operation and the continuous monitoring of the resurgence of private armed groups, activities of criminal gangs, and movements of the communist terrorist groupss. (JDP/DEG-PIA CAR)
