SAN FERNANDO CITY, Feb. 23 (PIA) –The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 1 inaugurated its newly constructed regional headquarters located at the Camp Diego Silang of the La Union Police Provincial Office (LUPPO) here on Monday.
Director General Wilkins Villanueva led the inauguration rites and blessing of the new office building along with Regional Director Ronald Allan Ricardo and other PDEA key officials, as well as LUPPO Provincial Director Jonathan G. Calixto and representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 1.
In partnership with the DPWH, the two-storey building was constructed on March 23, 2021 and was completed on Dec. 3, 2021.
This project is worth P15,440,000 and was funded under the National Building Program.

Villanueva said this new facility will boost the morale of the PDEA agents and will further motivate them to work harder for the realization of a drug-free community.
“Dahil dito sa maganda at maayos na bagong tanggapan ng PDEA, mas lalong tumitibay ang aming loob, ang aming determinasyon, at nagpapatatag sa aming paniniwala na ang isang bansang ligtas mula sa banta ng ilegal na droga ay posible nang makamit,” Villanueva said.
He noted that the project will be a legacy of PDEA and the DPWH.
The director general thanked the DPWH and the LUPPO for making the construction of the project possible.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa DPWH sa mabilis at agarang aksyon ng kami ay mag-request at gayundin sa LUPPO sa naging pagtanggap sa amin sa inyong tahanan,” he said.
He added, “Ito ay nagpapatunay ng inyong pakikiisa sa ating kampanya kontra ilegal na droga at dahil dito sa inyong suporta ay lalo naming pagbubutihan at pag-iigihan ang aming trabaho.” (JCR/JPD/CGC, PIA La Union)
