LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) - - People of Ifugao will soon have health and sports facilities, accessible water system and farm to market roads as the provincial local government unit (PLGU) is working for the completion of these projects.
In his interview over the Network Briefing News, Governor Jerry Dalipog explained that the PLGU is fastracking the completion of the Ifugao General Hospital (IGH) in Lagawe town to be operational this first quarter.
“We targeted that the IGH will be completed until June 2022 based on the contract for the people of the province to have their own medical facility,” he stated.
Another priority of the PLGU is for the 176 barangays in the province to have sustainable water sources.
“We have many springs as sources of water in the upland areas but the lowlands lack other sources of water so we decided to purchase drilling machines purposely for the barangays water system projects in districts one and two,” the Governor said.
He mentioned that they have already used the drilling machine for the water system of the provincial capitol and Panopdopan District Hospital in Lamut municipality.
The governor also disclosed that the provincial government purchased 17 brand new heavy equipment for the opening, widening and graveling of farm to market roads in the different municipalities.
“The PLGU will incur less expense with the use of these equipment comparing to other modes of construction, so we decided to buy these equipment for the opening of potential agricultural road networks,” Dalipog added.
Another important project is the construction of a sport complex in Lagawe town noting that Ifugao is only the province in the Cordillera region without a facility for big sports events.
“This sports facility will be a venue for big sports events, to train or develop people with potential skills, help promote tourism and economy of the province. With the help of our Congressman, the flood control around the sports complex is being funded,” Dalipog said.
The governor assured that these projects were referred or discussed with the heads of offices of the provincial government and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
