PCOO lauds women frontliners in Cebu

CEBU CITY, Cebu, Feb. 24 (PIA) -- In view of the upcoming celebration of the National Women’s Month this March, the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) led by Sec. Martin Andanar, gave recognition to the women medical workers of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) who served as frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.

As a way of showing its appreciation to all the efforts, contributions, and sacrifices done by these brave women frontliners, the PCOO turned over some basic food items to the women medical staff during the turnover ceremony of the “Parangal for Women Frontliners in Cebu” held at the lobby of the Cebu City Medical Center on Feb. 24.

Andanar, in his solidarity message, thanked the women frontliners for their invaluable service to the Filipino people, describing them as “modern-day heroes” of the country amid the pandemic.

“As a sign of our gratitude for your service to our fellow Filipinos, the PCOO holds this 'Parangal for Women Frontliners.' It is now our turn to give back and show you that we are here for you. We hope this mitigates the burden you are carrying. Thank you, our dear women frontliners," said Andanar.

“On a final note, I hope your passion and desire to serve the country do not die. Please remember that the government and the whole country are with you in this fight," the PCOO chief said.
