ELCAC 6 champs call for end on support to CTGs

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- A Dialogue with National Anti-Money Laundering/Combating Financing Terrorism Coordinating Committee as well as covenant signing for a peaceful May 2022 elections was conducted by the Regional Task Force To End Local Communist Armed Conflict 6 (RTF-ELCAC 6), March 3, at the Circulo Convention Center here to enjoin and call on local government officials in the province to fully support the government's call to cut all forms of material support to the Communist Terrorist Groups.

The Capiz - leg of the campaign was lauded by Governor Esteban Evan Contreras stressing that the activity will increase public awareness to eventually make the ordinary citizens become watchdogs against the extortion activities of the CTGs this election season.

Recently, the governor has become an official member of the Philippine Army Reserve and was given a Lieutenant Colonel rank in a ceremony at Camp Antonio Belo in Panitan town.

The RTF initiative has been carried out in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Guimaras and Iloilo and cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

"The RTF-ELCAC 6 will not hesitate to prosecute any public official and or government employee who shall give or 

render material support to the CPP-NPA-NDF and their front organizations," said RTF - ECAC 6 Spokesperson and Legal Cooperation Cluster chair Prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales.

He added that giving aid to a terrorist organization is the highest form of betrayal of public trust, betrayal of the Constitution and of a government employees' oath of office.

During the dialogue, an orientations about Pres. Rodrigo Duterte's Executive Order No. 70 or the Whole-of-Nation-Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace thru the creation of a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, CTG Problem, Republic Act 11479 or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020, RA 10168 or the Terrorism Financing, Prevention and Suppression Act of 2021 were conducted to onsite and online participants.

he participants also expressed their commitment and support for a peaceful polls this year.
