CALAMBA CITY (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) gave recognition to its partner agencies and local government units, who helped deliver their welfare services to various parts of the region.
During the recent 2021 Regional Pagkilala Sa Natatanging Kontribusyon Sa Bayan (PaNaTa Ko sa Bayan) Awards, the DSWD Calabarzon gave its recognition to its most notable partner agencies and organizations who helped in their disaster relief efforts.
International organizations, including the International Organization for Migration and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, were recognized as the agencys’ most valuable partners during the July 2021 Taal Volcano Magmatic Unrest and other disaster events in the region.
Meanwhile, the Southern Luzon Command and 2nd Infantry Division were given recognition for their efforts in promoting effective Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Program to facilitate and enhance cooperation on preparedness and response strategies of the Calabarzon Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Response Cluster and its member LGUs.
Other awardees included Landbank-Almanza branch, the city government of Muntinlupa, and DSWD IV-B.
Non-government organizations and private individuals who dedicated their time and resources to help the DSWD bring its programs to communities were also given the Salamat Po Award.
Reymar Manaloto, a faculty member from the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), was named the Best Individual Volunteer for this part and innovative contribution in the development of the Pantawid Digitized Scoreboard Software.
Meanwhile, the Gems Heart Outreach Development Inc. was recognized for its commitment to empowering children, families, and communities towards total human development.
The DSWD currently enjoys a very high public approval with a 78 percent rating, proving its consistent work in bringing the government’s humanitarian services, especially during times of disasters. (PB)
