Nueva Valencia municipal slaughterhouse groundbreaking held

ILOILO CITY (PIA) - - A groundbreaking ceremony was held on March 22, 2022 to start the construction of the 2,000 square meters municipal slaughterhouse of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

Funded under the Department of Agriculture- Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), the  P36,977,813.93 worth  facility is expected to benefit at least 1,841 livestock raisers, 33 meat vendors, 21 resorts, and 75 eateries in the province. 

It also  aims to establish and operate an abattoir in the municipality with an improved, humane, and standard technique in the processing of safe and quality meat.

The construction of the facility is set to commence on March 30, 2022 with a project duration of 403 calendar days, targeted to be accomplished on May 7, 2023

After the ceremony, a  pre-construction conference was held to discuss the fundamentals on the implementation of the sub-project underlining the contract documents, PRDP’s processing of disbursement, billing guidelines and quality control, among others, to the project implementers and stakeholders.

Key officials from the province who attended the activity were Mayor Emmanuel C. Galila, Vice Mayor Paul Vincent G. De la Cruz, Sangguniang Bayan Member and Committee Chair on Infrastructure Felix G. Servando, and Municipal Engineer Josephine G. Servando.
