TFBM holds Kawiyagan anew, highlights services for women

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)-- The Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) through its Sub-Committee on Business and Livelihood lined up various services for women in line with the celebration of National Women's Month.

Through the Kawiyagan, free services such as manicure, pedicure, haircut, blood pressure check, and blood sugar check, among others were especially offered to women from March 27 to 29, 2022.

Anchored on the theme "Siyap ko mga Bae, Siyap ko Pagtaw," the Kawiyagan also features a job fair for senior high completers, civil registration, tribal registration, and business name registration.

Products and local produce of micro, small and medium enterprises, socio-enterprises of youth organizations, and traders are also showcased at a trade fair.

The three-day Kawiyagan will culminate with a Kalilang (festival) and awarding of livelihood assistance.

A Maranao term for livelihood, Kawiyagan is a regular activity spearheaded by the TFBM, the City Government of Marawi, and development organizations that aims to provide much-needed humanitarian and livelihood assistance to those affected by the 2017 siege.

The last Kawiyagan was held in January this year and created opportunities for residents and youth organizations to have a sustainable source of livelihood.

"Noon ang Kawiyagan ay nakafocus dun sa interventions na binibigay but this time makikita na yung mga sinuportahan natin gaya ng 11 youth organizations na nakatanggap ng support [Kawiyagan before focused on the interventions that were given but this time we will see those we supported such as the 11 youth organizations that received support]," said PESO manager Cabsaran Pacasum Jr. representing the city government of Marawi.
