BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- Philippine Information Agency Director General Undersecretary Ramon Cualoping III stressed the importance of communicating to the people the policies and programs of government.

During his visit in Baguio City, he emphasized that information now is very instant with the advent of different social media platforms but PIA must stand to its role as the lead information arm of the government.

 
"We stick to our agnostic campaign which is to explain, explain, explain. Regardless who is the president, the congressman, the mayor, the senators, we ought to do what we have to do which is to make sure that people are informed and at the same time, people understand the policies and programs (of the government)," he underscored.

He added that information is dynamic and the challenge now is how to be relevant to the audience, thus, he underlined that there is a need to customize or curate the  way of communicating the programs of the government.

"We have to curate our content, curate our communication materials based on prevailing strategy," Cualoping stressed.
The director general also disclosed that they are pushing for the transformation of PIA to be a paradigm in a way that it will become more effective in its role as communicator.

"We will always move forward and make sure that we are more capable and maybe unlearn some things and learn new things which will make us better communicators," Cualoping assured.

He assured that the PIA will continue to empower the people, and empower their lives through timely, accurate, and relevant information. (JDP/DEG-PIA CAR)
