The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) – Project Inspectorate Team recently inspected these five school buildings which were identified as problematic by the Department of Education – Cordillera Regional Office.
During the Problem Solving Session facilitated by RPMC-CAR Chair and NEDA-CAR Regional Director Susan Sumbeling, the project contractors vowed to complete the needed corrections and ensure readiness for the turn over to the DepEd and be used for the limited face-to-face classes by April 11, 2022.
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials cautioned the project contractors that if they will not comply with the agreed completion dates, they would face possible sanctions or even blacklisting of future projects.
Engr. Benedict Pineda of the La Trinidad local government unit said they will help in the processing of the occupancy permits for the schools.
The DepEd officials requested for the inspection by the RPMC of the problematic and unfinished school building projects to facilitate the completion and turnover of the school buildings to the users and also to ensure that the defects would be addressed or corrected.
