Continue supporting women,end VAWC-DSWD ASec urges

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) –Department of Social Welfare and Development Assistant Secretary Janet called on Police Regional Office – Cordillera personnel to continue supporting women and end violence against women and children.
 
“Through the years, the role of women in society has not been fully recognized because of several factors that we were used to and were dictated by history but like technology, the role of women in our homes, in our society, in the workplace, and everywhere has evolved.”

“Thank you to all the men who continually supporting the women. Salamat po sa suporta na binibigay sa aming mga kababaihan (thank you for the support you give to the women). We cannot be on our best without your love and support,”   Armas stressed during the Women’s Month culmination program at the Camp Bado Dangwa on   April 4.


Armas also enjoined the police officers to continue to work with the DSWD and the other agencies to put an end to the violence being committed to women and children.

“End violence that happens everywhere, in homes and in the workplace. When we do protect the rights of women and children, we are not just doing this for them but for the entire humanity,” she said.
 
“Sa pamamagitan ng inyong kasanayan at kagalingan ay inyong prinotektahan at ipinaglaban ang karapatan ng kababaihan at yan ang tema ng ating celebration ngayon, “We make change for women” while providing healing and promoting hope,” added Armas who hails from Tinoc, Ifugao.

She assured  that the DSWD will continue to work with the PNP and other partners  in ending the violence against women and children.

A Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya or the Police Relations Medal was awarded to PLTCOL Dominga Terrado and PSSg Beverly Pacas of the Benguet Police Provincial Office for their successful implementation of the “Pabahay Project” or providing a decent home to at least one family per municipality in Benguet.
 
The same award was also given to PMAJ Anne Carmel Comising of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) for the successful conduct of an outreach program and medical mission at Barangay Duacan, Poblacion, Kabayan, Benguet on March 9, 2022 and PCpl Maria Kristin Cuevo of the Regional Community Affairs Development Division for the successful conduct of the outreach program and medical mission at Barangay Ud-udiao, Sallapadan, Abra on March 24, 2022. 

A Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya was also awarded to PLTCOL Carolina Lacuata and PSSg Sheena Marie Inchan while a Medalya ng Kasanayan or the PNP Efficiency Medal was awarded to Non-Uniformed Personnel Juliet Divinicia Custudio of the Regional Community Affairs Development Division (RCADD) for the successful conduct of an outreach program and medical mission at Sitio Addunnit, Barangay Bunot in Paracelis, Mountain Province on March 18, 2022. 

Meanwhile, Medalya ng Kasanayan was awarded to PLTCOL Rowena Canlas and PSSg Melissa Panas of Regional Forensics Unit (RFU) for the successful conduct of random drug testing to the personnel of PROCOR, Regional Support Units and PNP Applicants; while the same awards were given to PSMS Grace Dayagen and PMSg Liberty Chamcan of the Regional Civil Security Unit (RCSU) for the successful conduct of the License to Own and Possess Firearms and Renewal of Firearms Registration Caravan at the Philippine Military Academy on March 16-18, 2022.
