BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) assured to bring more support for the Cordillera Administrative Region.
OPAPRU Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said that there are lot of progressive countries such as Germany, Sweden, United States, country representatives of the European Union and the United Nation who are ready to extend assistance. The OPAPRU just needs to formulate programs for recommendation to the said countries.
"Nakikita namin na malaki ang tiyansa na baka pagbigyan tayo dito sa Cordillera. Ka-partner namin ang Australia, ka-partner din namin ang ibang mga countries," Galvez disclosed.
He added that they are also looking into their development partners like the Asian Development Bank if they can continue their initial programs for the region.
Galvez also mentioned the introduction of other modern technologies in the Cordillera.
"We will venture na magkaroon kami (ng Department of Agriculture) ng partnership so maibigay natin sa programa na 'yun. I'll try my best na 'yung ating diplomatic channel will be a good way in generating and sourcing some funds for Cordillera," he said.

Meanwhile, DA- CAR Regional Director Cameron Odsey said that interventions from the OPAPRU is a great help for communities in the region especially in areas not reached by the regular programs of the government.
"We're looking forward to the continued partnership with OPAPRU and the other agencies of the national government para ipagpatuloy pa natin ang development ng ating nakalimutan na communities in the past lalo na sa Cordilleras," Odsey said underscoring the need to push for development in the countryside.
This he said is pursued with the local government units who will continue the program in their areas. (JDP/DEG-PIA CAR)
