Antique sends rescue team to Capiz, Iloilo

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - -  The Antique Disaster Risk Reduction Council rescue team was sent to the province of Capiz and Iloilo to help in the rescue, relief and retrieval operations after the onslaught of tropical depression Agaton.

The team composed of 20 persons headed by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Officer Broderick Train left Antique early morning of April 13 proceeding to the hardly hit area in Capiz and Iloilo.

With them are the rescue assets, equipment, and vehicles including the boom truck to be used in the Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.

There are two teams of SAR trained personnel with communication, medics, drivers, electrician, mechanics, drivers and in charge of logistics sent as an augmentation force.

Earlier, the Office of the Civil Defense Officer 6-In-Charge head Ma. Aletha A. Nogra has requested Governor Cadiao to 

send the SAR team to the towns of Iloilo and Capiz provinces that were hardly stricken by heavy flooding due to TD Agaton.The Antique SAR team is reporting to OCD , which will deploy them to affected areas.

To date, Pelaez said that the 17 towns of Capiz were already affected by the flooding due to heavy rains.

The Antique DRRM SAR team readily responded to the call and proceeded to the OCD 6. (JBG/psm/PIA-Antique)
