SAN FERNANDO CITY, April 15 (PIA) -- The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) intensifies efforts for a safe summer vacation (SUMVAC) by deploying police personnel and force multipliers.
A total of 1,463 police officers are leading in maintaining public health standards and peace and order, particularly in public spaces such as places of worship, malls, markets, commercial districts, parks, and community centers.
Additional 4,774 force multipliers have also been identified to assist the police.
The police and force multipliers are likewise stationed in tourist destinations, police assistance desks, terminals, and transportation hubs to deter crimes and enforce stern health protocols.
Moreover, they will be placed in areas of road construction to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.
Meanwhile, PBGen Westrimundo Obinque, PRO1 regional director, reminded all the tourists and motorists to remain extra vigilant and observe the prescribed guidelines, as the threats of COVID-19 still exist.
“We remain consistent in exerting our efforts to ensure the safety and security of every tourist in the region. In return, we expect our visitors to follow the rules and regulations being implemented especially on the strict adherence to the public health standard,” Obinque said.
The PRO1 is actively collaborating with local governments and other law enforcement agencies to ensure full security coverage for the Ligtas SUMVAC campaign which will be implemented until May 31. (JCR/JPD, PIA La Union)
