Regional Executive Director Remelyn Recoter of DA 6 noted that the agency’s fourth year of FFM celebration focuses on the theme “Pagkaing Pilipino, Susi sa Pag-unlad at Pagbabago.”

Recoter also cited the month of April as "Buwan ng Kalutong Filipino" pursuant to Executive Order 469 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte in 2018.

“Western Visayas has a wide range of indigenous foods that provides trademark to Ilonggo cuisines and of other provinces here such as the kadyos baboy langka, laswa, tinuom nga manok, inubaran nga manok, among others, ” according to the press statement of DA 6.

As the FFM celebration coincided with the High Value Crops Week, the DA also

held free training on urban or containerized gardening, cacao production, coffee production, and backyard farming.

The DA Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division also conducted the Still Life Painting and Food Carving contests as part of the FFM event. (JBG/LML/PIA Iloilo/DA6 Press release)
