DTI awards Safety Seal to Antique’s biz firms

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) awarded the safety certification to business establishments in Antique which have complied with the DOH minimum public health standards.

DTI Antique Trade and Industry Development Specialist Glen Fernando said that these establishments also use the contact tracing StaySafe.ph.

The Safety Seal Certification program started in June 2021 as a response of the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) to ensure the compliance of business establishments to safety protocols for the prevention and control of COVID 19.

In 2021, a total of 24 business establishments under the scope of DTI, which included supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores, construction supply, hardware stores, logistics service outlets, barbershops and

salons service and repair shops, were awarded the Safety Seal Certification. The Safety Seal Certification is valid for six  months and can be renewed after expiration.

As of April 2022, a total of 33 applications were filed online, of which, 29 (24  renewal; five new) were already approved and awarded to qualified establishments.  The remaining  four establishments are still  set  for inspection.

Fernando is reminding the business establishments to sustain their compliance to the Safety Seal Program and for the public to abide by the health protocols as well. (JBG/PSM/PIA-Antique)
