Bago City to host ISARAP caravan of services

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) -- A convergence of government services caravan dubbed as Integrated Sustainable Assistance Recovery and Advancement Program (ISARAP) will again be held in Negros Occidental.

Western Visayas ISARAP lead convenor and Philippine Reclamation Authority General Manager and Chief Executive Officer lawyer Janilo Rubiato said that the second event in the province will be held in Bago City, particualrly at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum And Cultural Center, on May 1.

He said the activity is a government program with the aim of giving the remaining allocated projects and resources to those identified by the national government agencies.

Rubiato said the assistance is especially intended for marginalized people and sectors affected by calamities like typhoons, floods and individuals who are in a crisis situation. The beneficiaries include drivers, farmers, fishermen, laborers and others.

The program, he said, is not only for residents of Bago City but also for citizens of neighboring areas.

Among those agencies that will participate are the Cooperative Development Authority, Department of Agriculture, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Commission on Higher Education, Department of Education, Philippine Coconut Authority, National Housing Authority, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and Land Transportation Office.

With the term of President Rodrigo Duterte nearing its end, Rubiato said the activity is a tangible proof of the government’s concern and love for the people.

Earlier, the NHA said it will distribute certificates of award to five beneficiaries under the Government Employees Housing Program and another five certificates of award to beneficiaries for Typhoon Yolanda victims from Escalante City.

DOLE-Negros Occidental Field Office head Mary Agnes Capigon confirmed the department will release checks to Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers  (TUPAD) for Concepcion , Talisay City in the amount of P348,00 and for Barangay 12, Bacolod City in the amount of P1.5 million to more than 400 beneficiaries.
