SEC, stakeholders ink CAMPAIGN Network partnership

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-Iloilo Extension Office has secured the commitment of two groups for their recently launched CAMPAIGN Network.

The SEC Office here held a virtual Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing activity with its pioneer partners and was simultaneously held in eight other SEC extension offices in the country.

A total of 28 stakeholders from all over the country, two of which are from SEC Iloilo areas, have signed the MOA to formalize the said partnership.

Joining the CAMPAIGN Network here include the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 6 and the Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (SUC) VI, Inc. with its 11 SUC members.

The MOAs were signed by Director II lawyer Russell I. Ildesa together with DILG 6 Regional Director Juan Jovian E. Ingeniero and RASUC VI Inc. Chairperson and Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) President Dr. Raul F. Muyong.

“The SEC Capital Market Promotion and Advocacy Inter-Agency Network or SEC CAMPAIGN Network aims to promote capital market awareness in the countryside by identifying networks and linkages as powerful strategies towards stakeholder awareness and satisfaction,” said SEC Chair Emilio B. Aquino in a press release.

With the said MOA, the SEC-Iloilo and its partners have agreed to pursue common interests in financial literacy and investor protection through information dissemination, promotion, and knowledge and resource sharing.

Meanwhile, Ingeniero expressed excitement about the partnership with the SEC in this initiative to pursue their commitment to further capacitate and nurture the participation of local government units and citizens for national development.

“While the importance of establishing partnerships and alliances is acknowledged, the greater challenge lies in each partner to translate this collaboration into concrete actions – more

particularly through information dissemination and knowledge sharing,” SEC Commissioner Javey Paul D. Francisco stressed in his closing message.

It can be recalled that the Commission launched the SEC CAMPAIGN network, on a national scale, two years ago during the first Investor Protection Week celebration pursuant to Proclamation Number 846 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte. (AAL/FRG/PIA6/SEC Iloilo Story and Photos)
