Abra youth leader invites fellow youth to join KKDAT/YFP

BANGUED, Abra (PIA) - - A Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) leader urges his fellow youth to be united to support government programs against illegal drugs and terrorism.

“We have to be united. We need to support our government at sa ating mga kapulisan at kasundaluhan in their programs and projects lalo na sa paglaban sa illegal na droga at terorismo. We are very vulnerable and we don't deserve to indulge to such kind of wrong doings. Honestly, hindi natin deserve mapunta sa maling landas,” KKDAT Peñarrubia President Jerick Taoaguen stressed during the Duterte Legacy Caravan held in the municipality in May 1.

He said a simple act can make a difference. “If you want to make a difference then you have to focus on your studies dahil ang pag aaral ang paraan to contribute something - sa pamilya, sa komunidad at para sa magandang kinabukasan.”

Taoaguen also called on parents to properly guide their children as the youth are the easy target of the left-leaning groups who lure them to join their forces.

He extended the invitation to the youth to join them in the   KKDAT  to make a difference, establish relationships and have fun.

“Kasi gusto naming mapunta ang mga kabataan sa organisasyong tumutulong sa kapwa at may magandang adbokasiya at hindi sa organisasyong panira at nagpapahirap sa ating bansa” (We want the youth to be involved in organizations with good advocacies who help their fellow youth and not those whose intent is to destroy and be a burden to the country), said Taoaguen, who   is also a Youth for Peace (YFP) member.

The KKDAT/YFP has various activities that they will certainly like to engage, not only educating them but giving them encouragement as well.

“We find it fun because we share our experiences and they are also actively participating, sharing their background in life. With that we are able to build good relationship and that is what we need - to have a good relationship," he said.

The  KKDAT  is organized by the Philippine National Police to educate the youth about illegal drugs  and the recruitment and deception  schemes of the  communist terrorist groups   and to   hone  their potentials, self confidence and leadership skills.  (JDP/SCA-PIA CAR, Abra)
