CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The Department of Education- Schools Division Office here has announced that all the polling precincts, DESO, Electoral Boards and support staff are now ready for the conduct of national and local elections tomorrow.

In the special edition of Tipon-Tipan sa PIA, Schools Division Superintent Flordeliza Gecobe said a Division Election Task Force chaired by Assistant Division Superintendent Cheryl Ramiro was created thru Division Memorandum no. 30 s. 2022 dated May 5 regarding the monitoring of the conduct of the elections.
“This is in pursuant to Deped Memorandum Order no. 10 s. 2022 which ordered the establishment of 2022 DepEd election task force and its operation and monitoring center in the central, regional, and school’s city/division offices. These offices deploy members of the regional election taskforce to the SDOs to perform their mandated functions starting 1:00 PM tomorrow until 5:00 PM of May 10, 2022,” Gecobe said.
Furthermore, SDO Quirino reported that a simulation activity in relation to health protocols and management of school traffic system has been conducted to ensure a smooth election.
Information and Technology Officer Esdras Agacer said they already purchased disinfecting materials and constructed hand washing facilities in all polling places and conducted short briefing of EB support staffs and DESOs relative to their duties and functions during election.
“We installed additional ventilation facilities and lightings and we also requested the barangay tanods, BHWs, and SKs to manage the traffic in implementing minimum health protocols,” he said.
Agacer also reported that every polling precinct has an isolation area room aside from the school clinic and alcohol thermal scanners were provided to all polling precincts.
“Voters with high temperature will stay at the waiting area for a while and they will be allowed enter to the precinct to cast vote only if their temperature become normal. Strict implementation of MPHS by the EBs, DESO, and support staffs inside the polling precincts will be observed,” Agacer assured.

Agacer said they will also be utilizing their FB account to disseminate information, during election.
“We are confident that all officials concerned in the NLE, the DESO, EB and support staff are well-prepared as they all attended the COMELEC briefing,” Agacer added.
Based on the record of COMELEC, a total of 137 schools in the province will be used as polling places, 25 schools in Aglipay, 18 schools in Cabarroguis, 36 in Diffun, 31 schools in Maddela, 18 in Natipunan and nine 9 in Saguday.
There are 223 clustered precincts, 35 in Aglipay, 59 in Diffun, 34 in Cabrroguis, 46 in Maddela, 31 in Natipunan and 18 in Saguday.
“Pagkatapos po ng election, maliban sa pagbibigay ulat sa resulta ng halalan ang pagbibigay din ng report tungkol sa physical status sa loob ng paaralan gaya ng damage to school properties kung meron man at sana naman po ay wala, ay kanilang ring ire-report. Ito po ay isang additional report na nire-require po ng ating ahensya para sa report po natin,” Agacer said. (OTB/TCB/PIA Quirino)
