Comelec Antique proclaims local poll winners

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) – The Antique Provincial Board of Election Canvassers (PBOC) has officially proclaimed the winners of the 2022 local elections, May 10, at the Legislative Building, here.

PBOC Chair and Provincial Election Supervisor lawyer Wil Arceño led the proclamation of the newly elected local officials after the successful validation of all municipal canvass from the 18 towns of the province.

Governor Rhodora Cadiao expressed her gratitude for the outpour of support as she pledged to continue the accomplishments of her administration in the last years, thereby improving the quality of life of Antiqueños.

Her closest rival Capt. Vicente Fedelicio lagged behind with 66,207 votes or only 22.99% percentage of votes.

Meanwhile, vice gubernatorial race challengers and incumbent Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members Julius Cezar

Tajanlangit and Vincent Piccio III failed to overtake incumbent vice governor Engr. Edgar Denosta with 135,955 votes or 49.16% percentage of votes.

It is victory as well for newbie politician Antonio Agapito "AA" Legarda, Jr., brother of current Antique Lone District Representative and senatorial aspirant Loren Legarda, who dominated the congressional race with 189,907 votes or 63.55% percentage of votes.

Congressman-elect Legarda won by a wide margin versus close competitors -- former Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) National

President Abdiel Dan Elijah “Ade” Fajardo and former representative Paolo Everardo Javier with 28,848 and 69,299 votes, respectively.

Further, incumbent Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members Mayella Mae Plameras and Victor Condez emerged as SP members-elect with the highest vote turnout for the first and second provincial districts, respectively.

Arceño extended his felicitations to all poll winners and urged them to perform their mandate for the good of the people who put them in public office.

With him in the Provincial Board of Canvassers (PBOC) are Provincial Prosecutor Michael Villaret and Provincial Auditor Chona Moscoso. (AAL/BPS/PIA Antique)
