MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)—The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA)-10 in collaboration with the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division (4ID) and the Safety Technical Institute and Driving Academy, Inc. launched its first-ever NC II technical driving training to soldiers at Camp Evangelista, May 11.
“With this NC II driving training, we are confident that this will not only help or add competencies to our participants but on the part of the military, it will also help them professionalize their ranks since the national certificate is a globally recognized credential,” TESDA-10 Regional Director Ashary Banto said.
Divided into two batches, 50 participants comprising 37 soldiers and 13 civilians are set to undertake 118 hours of training in defensive and technical driving.
Michael Ampo, 4ID 4th Signal Battalion Commanding Officer, said the NC II training will enhance their soldier’s mobility skills in the field in addition to boosting their confidence in tackling community-related issues for nation-building.
“In as much as the unit is progressing towards becoming a professionalized army, it is just well-fitting to adopt another step of a remarkable skills development program relevant to our vision that by 2028, we will become a world-class army that is a source of national pride,” Ampo said.
In line with the country’s vision of attaining a globally competent army by 2028, the training is set to further capacitate the army’s competencies through various systematic skill-related upgrades. (VPSB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
