21 farmers take oath as qualified ARBs

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- A total of 21 farmers in the Pilar town took their oath, May 20, at the Municipal Trial Court of President Roxas town, as qualified agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) of the Department of Agrarian Reform's (DAR) Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) after they fulfilled the screening and selection process to become land recipients.

"A total of 18.4673 hectares will be divided among the beneficiaries of the landholdings formerly owned by Primsan Ibaca Agro Development Corporation (PIAD) covered by title no. T-13503 located at Brgy. Dulangan, Pilar and the land owned by Ester B. Gellada embraced in OCT/TCT No. TCT-T-8906 situated at Brgy. Natividad, Pilar," said a DAR press release.

Judge Hannibal R. Patricio, who  administered the farmers’ oath of office, discussed with the qualified beneficiaries their undertaking.

He encouraged the farmers to fulfill their obligations as the beneficiaries of the land according to the imposed Agrarian Reform laws such as to cultivate and make the land productive towards the improvement of their quality of life.

Further, Patricio reminded the ARBs not to engage in illegal activities like the sale and lease of lands, which are grounds for disqualification from the program.

“Your fulfillment obligations will be your continuous remarks on your willingness

and commitment to work on the land and make it productive. Failure to attend the said conditions will be a ground for your disqualification,” Patricio said.

According to Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Eugene Dela Cruz,  the activity aims to affirm the application of the identified beneficiaries to ensure compliance with all agrarian laws including the signing of Oath of Agrarian Reform Beneficiary (CARPER LAD Form No. 37).

"In order to facilitate the land acquisition and distribution (LAD) process, it is important that the qualified ARBs must attend the oath taking and sign the undertaking," Dela Cruz stressed. (JBG/AAL/PIA Capiz/Story and photo from DAR Capiz)
