DTI awards business kits to entreps in Gerona

TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) awarded business kits to entrepreneurs in Gerona, Tarlac through its Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB).

Five sari-sari stores in barangay San Jose were initially evaluated and selected by DTI, with the help of the barangay council, to aid them in accelerating their businesses.

OIC-Provincial Director Zaida Garibay said that under the LSP-NSB program, established micro enterprises were given business kits that could support them grow their business through entrepreneurship and disaster resilience activities.

“If there is an increase in the number of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the economy will also rise since it could generate livelihood, jobs, and taxes that could help the government,” she said.

LSP-NSB is part of the government’s thrust to provide business development assistance to MSMEs with the collaboration of the local government units.

Meanwhile, Mayor Eloy Eclar urged the beneficiaries to use the kits in boosting their respective businesses.

“I challenge you to grow and enrich your business as the funding of these business kits came from the hard labor of our kababayans through their tax remittances,” he stated.

DTI, through the Negosyo Center in the town, will continuously monitor and deliver services to the beneficiaries for their business development. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
