CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - At least 45 residents from Barangay Aringay, San Guillero town of this province started the skills training program conducted by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Isabela Provincial Office.
The said training is part of the agency’s Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) implementation of its project called Implementation of Resources for Isabelenos towards Key employment and Livelihood as intervention (IRIK). The project is in support of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
The 45 selected residents in the said barangay started the training on May 16, 2022 and are expected to finish in two to four weeks.
Merely Viernes, TESDA Isabela TESD specialist, said that the training aims to provide livelihood and employment opportunities to residents in area affected by Communist Terrorist Groups, along with other interventions from PRLEC member agencies.
Viernes said that 45 selected residents will be undergoing training on Driving NC II, bread making, and electrical installation from TESDA’s Southern Isabela School of Arts and Trades (SICAT) in Santiago City, Isabela.
“These trainings were set and implemented in partnership with other government agencies, the security sector, the Local Government Unit of San Guillermo and the private sector,” Viernes said. (OTB/MGE / PIA Isabela)
