Dengue cases in NV on the rise

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - Dengue cases in the province have increased with two suspected fatalities in Solano and Kasibu towns.

Dwight Artienda, Philippine Integrated Disease Surveillance & Response coordinator of the  Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), said they have already recorded 342 cases of dengue in the province from January to June this year compared to last year’s 52 cases.

“We are already beyond the epidemic threshold. Our Local Government Units should do their part in dengue prevention activities to stop the cases from further increasing," Artienda said.

He added the increase of dengue cases has been recorded even during the summer season, saying this could increase during the  rainy season.

He said Novo Vizcayanos should do their share on the prevention and control of Dengue in their homes by destroying the haven and breeding sites of dengue-carrying mosquiotes. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
