CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga(PIA) -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) has distributed 34,585 bags of certified rice seeds in the province.

Delia Gonzalo, Rice Program Coordinator, said more than 15,000 farmers from the different  municipalities  benefited from the subsidy which  comes from the rice seeds component of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program of DA.

 Farmers get free  two  bags of certified rice seeds   per hectare. the seeds are  provided by PhilRice

Gonzalo said more farmers  will  benefit from the on-going distribution especially in areas that have not yet started planting like Tabuk City.

Farmers here will start the cropping season once water supply is released for irrigation.

As  a requirement, beneficiaries must be registered with DA’s Registry System for Basic Sector on Agriculture. (LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
