QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – With only few weeks left before President Duterte’s term ends, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that the ride-hailing firm Grab Philippines will offer free airport shuttle rides.
In a statement on Saturday, Transportation Secretary Art Tugade explained passengers from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals 2 and 3 can get a free shuttle ride to any point in the National Capital Region (NCR) from June 15 – 30.
DOTr said Grab will deploy 100 units for the free ride program and the 15-day scheme will run from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Passengers who want to avail the program must book a ride at the Grab booths located at the arrival areas of NAIA Terminals 2 and 3.
"Malaking bagay itong Libreng Sakay mula sa Grab para sa ating mga pasahero upang agaran silang makauwi sa kani-kanilang mga tahanan. Nagpapasalamat tayo sa Grab sa inisyatibong ito na malaking tulong sa ating mga kababayan," Tugade said.
Tugade noted that the Grab’s free shuttle rides would augment the current Libreng Sakay Program of the DOTr and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), in which being implemented at the MRT-3 and EDSA bus carousel.
In a separate statement, Grab Philippines thanked President Duterte and Secretary Tugade for the valuable projects that continue to benefit the Filipino commuters. (JAFD/PIA-IDPD)
